ALBANY, Ga. -- A suspect being chased by police over an expired license plate smashed his car into a south Georgia home and set off an explosion that destroyed the house. Three residents escaped the blaze Tuesday in Colquitt County, but their three kittens died. Robbery Suspect Caught Fleeing Gwinnett Bank

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- Gwinnett police nabbed a robbery suspect shortly after they said he held up a bank in Lawrenceville Monday morning. The robbery took place at a Wells Fargo Bank at 3065 Lawrenceville Highway around 9:30 a.m. Police told Channel 2's Manuel Bojorquez that officers responding to the call spotted a car that matched the description of the getaway vehicle and stopped the driver on Wessex Court. Law firm of BP claims czar paid $3.3M so far

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. — The law firm of Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of BP’s $20 billion compensation fund for Gulf oil spill victims, has so far been paid about $3.35 million from BP PLC. A Woodbury, Georgia woman was killed over the weekend in a single-vehicle accident on a rural Talbot County roadway. According to the coroner, 30-year-old Chirmane Johnson was driving on Rising Sun Road around midnight Saturday. When she attempted to make a turn, she allegedly lost control of the car.
