Henry Co. clinic shut down in raid

Henry County law enforcement raided and shut down a clinic that they said was operating as a pill mill.Wayne McClure said the clinic killed his son, Cameron. McClure said his son got prescriptions for hundreds of pills from Stockbridge Pain and Wellness in Henry County. The 27-year-old died in April of an overdose.

How can it be so easy to get them kind of pills? How can a doctor make it so easy for a child to get them pills?” McClure told Channel 2’s Michael Buczyner.

The DEA and Henry County law enforcement raided the office Wednesday after a three-month investigation. Investigators call the business a pill mill.As long as you had the cash to come in and pay them, you could walk out with prescriptions,” said Maj. Chad Rosborough of the Flint Circuit Drug Task Force.

The business owner, office manager and medical assistant were arrested in the raid and are facing several charges.

Investigators said the clinic was open one day a week and for $350, Dr. Mike Tan would write prescriptions for narcotics like Xanax and Oxycodone.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Dr. Tan. He was not at the office when police arrived.

I hope he can live the rest of his life knowing he took my boy’s life, McClure said.

Dr. Tan’s attorney said his client is expected to turn himself into authorities this weekend.
