Suspected Rifle Thief Caught Inside Gun Store

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — Lawrenceville Police arrested a man wanted for stealing rifles from a Gwinnett County gun shop, when the man returned to the scene of the crime.Channel 2’s Manuel Bojorquez had just arrived at the store as officers took Ja-mil Harrison in custody.

Police say Harrison is the man seen in surveillance video from the Bulls Eye Indoor Range and Gun Shop in Lawrenceville, putting rifles into his baggy pants and walking out.

Detectives say it happened on several occasions, and they accuse Harrison of taking three rifles.Bojorquez witnessed the arrest as he went to the store to interview the owner about the thefts.”Just a few minutes ago, he just showed up and my son told me, ‘That’s him'”, said store owner Randy Powell.”So we had a plan.

He went to the door and locked it,” he said. There happened to be two police officers in the store, and they arrested Harrison, who told Bojorquez he is not the man in the videotape.Detectives are interviewing him at police headquarters.”Anytime you got firearms in criminals’ hands, which obviously they are now, there’s a real concern that more crime’s gonna happen,” said Lawrenceville Police Detective Cornelius Zellous.
