Colossal $44 Million Meth Bust Made In Metro Atlanta

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- A huge methamphetamine bust -- 933 pounds to be exact -- was made in metro Atlanta, Gwinnett County police said. DOT Workers Find Possible Dynamite Under Bridge

ATLANTA -- A suspicious package found underneath an overpass may be a stick of dynamite, Atlanta police said. The package was discovered by a group of Dept. of Transportation workers while inspecting a bridge near the intersection of Hollywood Road and Hightower Avenue in northwest Atlanta. A representative for Atlanta-Fire Rescue said the package had wires sticking out of it. Police said the elements may have been left over from construction. Woman Accused Of Stealing From Gwinnett School

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- The former bookkeeper of a Gwinnett County high school is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from a local school fund. Channel 2 Action News Reporter Manuel Bojorquez obtained a copy of the criminal arrest warrant against Mary Annette Ham of Lawrenceville on Monday. An investigator with Gwinnett Schools Police wrote that Ham failed to deposit more than $4,300 dollars into a school bank account. Attorney Admits Stealing $340K From Law Firm

ATLANTA -- An attorney was sentenced to 21 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to charges he embezzled more than $340,000 from his law firm. Steven Zagoria, 59, was also sentenced Monday to five years of supervised release and ordered to pay $318,000 in restitution to the victims of his crimes. Prosecutors say Zagoria forged the signature of one of his firm's leaders on checks and then deposited them into his personal account. Man Charged After Foster Child Dies

McDONOUGH, Ga. -- Police say they have charged a Henry County man in the death of a toddler who was living with him as a foster child. Police on Monday arrested Joseph Charles Todd Dunn and charged him with felony murder and first-degree cruelty to children.
