3 Arrested After Burglary Attempt At Buckhead Store

ATLANTA -- Atlanta police said officers arrested three people who tried to smash their way inside a Buckhead department store.Officers said they caught the burglars at the Nordstrom Rack store in the Buckhead Station Shopping Center just west of Georgia 400 early Wednesday morning. Police said someone tried to throw a brick through the front door of the store on Tuesday, but didn’t get in. 2 Guilty Of Shooting Man 40 Times

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -- A Fulton County jury found two men guilty Monday of shooting a 20-year-old man at least 40 times, killing him.A jury found Prentice McNeil, 26, and Matthew Mitchell, 27, guilty on all charges, including murder, felony murder and aggravated assault for the 2007 shooting death of 20-year-old Christopher Copeland. Body Found On Georgia Tech Campus

ATLANTA -- Georgia Tech, Atlanta Police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation were investigating a body found on the midtown Atlanta campus Tuesday morning. Channel 2's Ryan Young reported a large crime scene near at the intersection of Tech Parkway and Wallace Street which was closed to traffic. Police said a school employee discovered the body in a wooded area, about 100 yards from the road. CONYERS, Ga. -- A Conyers homeowner was charged on Monday after a teenager was shot and killed during a party at his house over the weekend.The homeowner, Javoy Jones, was in court Monday and was charged with keeping a disorderly house. He was granted a $1,000 bond. The charges come after an Atlanta-area teenager was killed at a house party. Burglar Killed Was Homeowner’s Friend

BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- A homeowner has fatally shot a masked burglar only to learn the burglar was a longtime friend. Ezekiel Wiley says he fired all six bullets at a man who crawled through a busted kitchen window, armed with a screwdriver Wednesday. Wiley said he couldn't see the burglar's face. Several hours later Wiley learned the burglar was William Bernard Stafford, a friend of 30 years. Authorities said Stafford had a drug history and several convictions. ALBANY, Ga. -- A suspect being chased by police over an expired license plate smashed his car into a south Georgia home and set off an explosion that destroyed the house. Robbery Suspect Caught Fleeing Gwinnett Bank

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- Gwinnett police nabbed a robbery suspect shortly after they said he held up a bank in Lawrenceville Monday morning. The robbery took place at a Wells Fargo Bank at 3065 Lawrenceville Highway around 9:30 a.m. Police told Channel 2's Manuel Bojorquez that officers responding to the call spotted a car that matched the description of the getaway vehicle and stopped the driver on Wessex Court.
